Volkswagen has introduced the concept eT!, an electric vehicle that aims to represent the future transport and mobility. The eT! is electrically powered and allow semi-automatic driving when needed. A great novelty, since this new concept is able to drive through a stick from the passenger seat. A model that aims to continue the more than sixty years that the firm develops commercial vehicles to facilitate daily transport of goods, services, or delivery of mail.
The eT! aims to become the cornerstone for innovative and futuristic logistics concept, which not only emission-free flowing through urban areas, thanks to its electric-wheel motors, it also provides maximum freedom to maneuver and turn, and optimum use of interior space the vehicle. Also if you “refuel” with electricity generated from renewable energy sources, ET! can operate with zero emissions. Fulfilling its forecast the Volkswagen Group will build two more automotive plants in China, as part of its expansion strategy in one of the largest markets in the world. German and Chinese governments have reached firm arrangements for the construction of plants in Foshan and Yizheng.
The plant in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province in east China, will be developed along with partner Shanghai Volkswagen , and the plant in Foshan, Guangdong province in the south will be built in collaboration with the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen. (Remember that for a foreign brand into China must have relationships with national companies).
Both plants have an annual manufacturing capacity of 300,000 vehicles in 2013, when estimating the start of production. “The new plants are a key element in our plans to increase the medium-term annual production capacity in China, along with our local partners, to three million vehicles,” said Karl-Thomas Neumann, president and CEO of Volkswagen China Group.
On the other hand, have already announced plans to increase production capacity of the group’s factories in Nanjing and Chengde or to a capacity of between 300.00 and 350,000 vehicles annually.
